An accident or an illness affecting you or a family member, a death in the family, moves, job changes, new babies, divorce, marriage, even home renovations are the transitions that can throw us off track.
People don’t have time to put things where they belong when dealing with these kinds of life events. Sometimes new purchases must be made with no time to think about where to store them. Imagine changing jobs AND having to move out of your home at the same time! Items get stacked rather than being put away when there is no time to spare, then the stack falls and things begin to get lost, clutter begins.
It’s not always a matter of months before a person can begin trying to catch up - sometimes it can take years. Believe me, this is something I see frequently. There’s no shame in that.
As women we’re always ready to jump in and help someone in need BUT we rarely think to ask for help when WE need it! We deserve the help we would happily give others. If this post hits a nerve, ask for help. It makes getting back on track happen that much faster and you can get back to enjoying your home as you once did.
Does this post ring true to you? Have you seen this happen in your life, or a friend's? Please share your thoughts and experiences. It will help others understand that what I see is not unique to me.
